Today, we begin with something simple.
Something you already know how to do.
Something that requires no special tools or talent.
Today’s Prompt: Lines
Don’t overthink it.
Make a line.
Then another.
And another.
What kind of lines? Any lines:
Straight lines that march across the page
Wavy lines that dance and meander
Jagged lines that zigzag with energy
Lines that loop back on themselves
Lines that overlap and create unexpected patterns
Let your hand move and your mind rest.

This isn’t about drawing something.
You could even use a tool like a fork or a scraper or a piece of yarn to make your lines. You could approach this prompt however you want.
All I ask is that you put your phone on Do Not Disturb for 300 seconds.
I know. Feels like eternity.
Ok, how about 1/12th of an hour?
Or 1/288th of a day? Better?
5 minutes. It’s simple.
No dings to respond to. No nervous energy about missed notifications.
Simply presence.
There’s no right or wrong. Just lines.
My 10-year-old offered to provide some ideas.
🎥 Here is what I did on live video this morning (I decided to do a more detailed video which didn’t feel right doing as a live demo, so I hope this format works for you)
Perhaps, it’ll spark some ideas?
The Reply Ritual
After you’re done, if you wish, leave me a comment with:
A single word that describes how it felt to give up 5 minutes of your life for making lines
Or, share a photo of your lines
Or nothing at all—just sit with the awesome feeling of knowing you did it! You reclaimed 5 minutes of your life away from a screen for your self!
Whether you share with me or not, please remember, this invitation is not designed to impress anyone. We are all simply here to pause and practice presence.
See you tomorrow,
Mansi.
P.S. Want to dive deeper into these moments of creative presence? I've created a special companion guide for paid subscribers, packed with bonus prompts and reflection exercises to help you carry this practice beyond our five days together. This guide is available exclusively this week during the challenge.
