The Ripple Maker

Creativity is an act of courage. Presence is an act of resistance. Kindness is a creative rebellion.

The Ripple Maker is a movement — one that starts with small, deliberate moments. A handmade token, a pause, a human connection.

Small things shift culture. A single moment of genuine noticing can reroute someone’s day. The weight of a fleeting exchange can linger for years.

A few months ago, I handed a little token to a barista. Nothing elaborate — just watercolor florals on bookmark-sized paper and a few words of gratitude scrawled in cursive on the back. She paused. Blinked. Studied me like she was trying to place me.

Then she said, “You made this for me? Wow!

Tears. A hug. “You don’t know how much I needed this.

I didn’t do anything extraordinary. Really. All I did was notice her, let her know that she was valued and appreciated. Expressed my gratitude in a tangible way.

I’ve been doing it for seven years, and the reaction is always the same — surprise followed by elation. Over and over again.

A small thing. A passing moment. A real connection.

Why do it? Because it matters. Because people move invisibly through the world. Because moments slip through our fingers before we realize they mattered. Because the quiet, overlooked, ordinary things, when held up to the light, become something sacred.

This is The Ripple Maker — a space where we pause.

A space to notice. A space to create.

Most of us rush through our days, lost in to-do lists, checking our phones in waiting rooms, measuring success in output and efficiency.

But what if we chose differently?

What if we reclaimed small moments? What if a simple act of making — of noticing, of offering — could shift not just our own experience, but someone else’s?

That’s what we explore here.

I’m Mansi (Maan-see), and I write about the quiet, everyday moments that shape us —the pauses, the unsaid emotions, the simple exchanges that remind us what it means to be human.

I create and give away little tokens of appreciation because kindness deserves to be seen. This is my practice — writing, making, noticing. And it’s an invitation for you to do the same.

About Me

My name is Mansi (Maan-see).

I create because making is an act of remembering.

I’ve spent years studying the ripple effects of small gestures — how they shift relationships, shape identities, and change the way we move through the world.

My background in journalism taught me how to listen between the lines. My art practice taught me how to sit with uncertainty. The Ripple Maker is where those two converge.
