Your story and reflection of being an mis fit Mansi is so touching, sad, and rewarding to hear. It is ok to have those feelings and because of them you have grown to be the wonderful person you are. Life has so many stages, after my husband died 7 years ago I’m still trying to figure out who I am by finding the new me, and that is ok. I feel like I now live with more grace and understanding, who I am is ever changing and that’s perfectly ok. ❤️

Thank you, Pam. I feel so grateful for your friendship and your wisdom. Life is, truly, ever-changing and the sooner we accept that we're the ones who need to adapt to circumstances beyond our control, the easier (in some ways) the journey becomes. Sorry for your loss ... it's hard to navigate these familiar waters when one's anchor is gone ... but I know you're adept at finding the way with your positivity and resilience.

I came home from kindergarten at age 5 very excited after learning art & craft (paper, crayons & paste), so my Mom went out and bought me colored construction paper, children's safety scissors, paste, a rubber stamp set (cartoon characters) & ink pad. That began 'a life of fiber art'. I am now turning 67 and the passion for art & craft is still there. Happy to say that I've taught at guilds & groups I've belonged to, a senior center, a nursery school, students I've tutored and the Art institute of Phoenix. Happy Papercrafting & more!

Up until now, the word "misfit" always had such a negative connotation. however, after listening to your podcast, it takes on a whole new, and very positive to me, connotation. I can definitely relate to some of the things you have experienced in your life, but I think I totally reacted in a very different way. I made me rebellious, and confrontational at times, because I wanted people tounderstand me and accept me. I my older age (69) I am now comfortable in my own skin, and I try to do me, not what is expected from others anymore. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to the future podcasts!

Thank you for seeing the positivity in being a misfit, Jean. I think there are a lot of words that take on a negative meaning because of social conditioning (especially for women) but I think the more open-hearted, mindful, truth-rooted conversations we have, the more we can celebrate these oddities in a quiet, powerful way. Who cares if the world doesn't agree with or understand you? It's more important that you feel comfortable with who you've chosen to be and I love seeing that confidence in you. Life is too short to let others determine how we live it.

Wow! If you said that to me about who you are, I would be absolutely THRILLED! I would IMMEDIATELY want to be your buddy because it's SUCH a GREAT response! I'd have questions about evrything you said about yourself! By your definition, I'm a complete misfit too, but I am happy to be that! I had a not-so-great childhood, but NOW I'm a happy creator and a great friend! Mansi, you are SUPERB in my book!

I think Ms. Shaw was a bitch! I always wondered what would happen to me if I hadn't been told about my period, and I Thank God I was told. My mom was really great about talking to me about my body. Oh, Mansi! That's just awful! I'm so sorry that you've had those experiences! Hug little Mansi for me!
